Forward Deployment Engineer

Be the bridge between our product and each customer's reality. You'll embed with practices, translate their written and unwritten workflows into a working AI deployment in athenaOne, and own the launch until it's handling real calls reliably.

What you'll do
  • Lead implementations: map a practice's scheduling rules, escalation policies, and back-office workflows into configuration.
  • Build and tune integrations against athenaOne (350+ APIs) and other systems; wire up call flows, guardrails, and escalations.
  • Sit alongside staff during launch: test, observe, and refine until the AI resolves calls the way their best rep would.
  • Turn recurring customer needs into product, feeding patterns back to engineering, and sometimes build the first version yourself.
What we're looking for
  • 3+ years in software, solutions/forward-deployed engineering, or technical implementation.
  • Strong with APIs, data, and scripting (Python/JS); comfortable reading logs and debugging in production.
  • Customer-facing polish: you can run a working session with a practice manager and a clinician.
  • A bias for shipping and owning ambiguous, high-stakes launches end to end.
  • Bonus: healthcare/EHR experience (athenahealth especially) or voice/AI systems.
