Pretty Good AI vs Confido Health

Pretty Good AI vs Confido Health

Confido Health raised $10M to run AI voice agents across 40+ EHRs in 20+ languages. Pretty Good AI runs one EHR very deeply. Breadth versus depth, compared on published evidence.

The short answer

Confido Health is a New York company running AI voice agents for provider front offices, with $13.3M raised including a $10M Series A led by Blume Ventures in September 2025. It sells breadth: published claims of 40+ EHRs, 20+ languages and 1,500+ clinic sites, with an athenahealth Marketplace listing that went live on 10 June 2026 and had 5 practice connections by 5 September 2026. Pretty Good AI sells the opposite: athenaOne only, 500+ athenaOne APIs out of roughly 800 endpoints athenahealth exposes, 40 practice connections and 17 reviews all five-star. If your organization runs several record systems, or your patient population needs language coverage beyond what one vendor typically ships, Confido is built for that. If athenaOne is the only system that matters and the problem is work that never gets finished, one system done deeply is the stronger buy.

When Confido Health is the better fit: You run more than one EHR across your locations, or you need broad multilingual coverage — Confido publishes 20+ languages against our narrower set — or you want a vendor already operating at scale across many small sites rather than deeply inside one record system. Their multi-EHR footprint is real and it is the case where a single-EHR vendor like us simply cannot serve half your organization.

Breadth versus depth, stated plainly

Confido Health’s pitch is that one AI voice layer should work everywhere — published as 40+ EHRs, 20+ languages, and more than a thousand clinic sites. That is a genuine strategy and it serves organizations a single-EHR vendor cannot serve at all.

Ours is that the interesting work in a practice does not happen on the call. It happens after it, inside the record system, and reaching that work requires far more of one EHR than any multi-system product can justify building.

Both are defensible. They are not the same product and they should not be evaluated as though they are.

What each vendor is optimizing

A multi-EHR platform has to define its integration by the smallest common denominator across the systems it supports. Read the schedule, write an appointment, drop a note. That is the set of operations every EHR exposes, so that is the set a platform can rely on everywhere.

An athenaOne-only platform has no such constraint. We connect 500+ of the roughly 800 endpoints athenahealth exposes, which is why the product can pick up a referral that arrived without imaging, chase what is missing, and put the result back into the order queue rather than describing the problem to a human who then does it.

Most vendors in this category connect ten or twelve endpoints. The 500 number is the whole argument and it is checkable.

The marketplace record as of 5 September 2026

  • Confido Health — listed 10 June 2026, 5 practice connections, no reviews published, 6 specialties, requires athenaCollector and athenaClinicals.
  • Pretty Good AI — listed September 2025, 40 practice connections, 17 reviews all five-star, 20 specialties.

Confido’s listing is three months old. Read the gap as time on the board, not as a quality judgment. What it does mean is that an athenaOne buyer evaluating today has a much thinner athenaOne-specific evidence base to inspect on their side.

Where Confido wins outright

Multiple record systems. If your locations do not all run athenaOne, we cannot serve the ones that do not. Confido can. That is not a close call.

Language coverage. 20+ published languages is broader than this category typically ships. If a meaningful share of your inbound calls arrive in a language your front desk cannot handle, weight that heavily and test both vendors with real callers rather than a demo script.

Scale across small sites. Their published footprint is many clinic sites rather than a few large groups. If you are a network of small practices, that operating experience is relevant.

Where the athenaOne-only bet wins

Work completion. Answering the call is now table stakes across the whole category. The differences show up in what happens next: the referral that needs chasing, the eligibility check that failed and will become a denial in six weeks, the balance nobody has worked, the slot that opened at 4pm and stayed empty.

Evidence a buyer can verify. Practice connections and reviews on athenahealth’s own board, not vendor-supplied references.

Pricing you can read before the call. Platform fee per location, per-provider modules, voice priced per call, month to month, no setup or implementation fee, first 30 days live.

How to decide in one meeting

Put both vendors on the same question and time the answers:

  1. Name the athenaOne endpoints you write to. Not the workflows — the endpoints.
  2. Take a live call from us in the language our patients actually use.
  3. Show us where a failed automation surfaces and who owns it.
  4. Send the current SOC 2 report and the standard BAA.
  5. Put the price at our call volume in writing, month to month.

If you run several EHRs, question one is less important than question two and Confido is likely the answer. If you are athenaOne end to end, question one is the whole evaluation.

Why practices pick us over Confido Health

Four parts, one platform, and each part uses the others. Most of the vendors on this site own one of these four well. The argument for us is that the same integration and the same patient memory carry all four, and that it is athenaOne only.

Patient engagement

We bring patients in and keep them close

We pick up the phone, day and night. Patients reach you by phone, text, chat or video. They book, reschedule, ask for a refill or get an answer. We call and text for you too — confirmations, recalls, and open slots to fill. Our AI remembers what a patient already told your practice, across every channel, so nobody repeats themselves.

Workflow automation

We do the staff work that piles up

A cancellation, a new referral, an overdue follow-up or a staff request starts a job. We do the steps, reach the patient if we need to, and hand the rest to your staff with everything they need. Your team sees the work in the Pretty Good AI Console or right inside athenaOne. Clinical decisions stay with your care team, always.

Referral management

We turn referrals into first visits

Referrals arrive by fax, portal and form. We track each one from intake to first visit, chase the missing information, reach the patient and book the visit. You see where every referral stands, and where the funnel leaks.

Revenue cycle

We keep revenue moving

Money leaks around every visit. We check insurance before the visit, track approvals so visits are not held up, call patients about balances, set up payment plans, and follow up on the claims your team hands us. Built to your billing team’s rules.

We only do athenaOne

One system means we go deep. We connect 500+ of the roughly 800 endpoints athenahealth exposes, and we read and write the real record — no middleware. Most vendors in this category connect ten or twelve. That depth is what lets a workflow finish instead of stopping at a handoff.

We build yours

If you can write down the rule, we can automate it. Your scheduling rules, your intake questions, your handoffs, your billing follow-up. And if another athenaOne marketplace app does a workflow you need, we can build it for you — same APIs, your rules, one vendor.

The mix is deliberately wide: FQHCs, family practice and primary care, OB-GYN, behavioral health, orthopedics, pulmonology and sleep, gastroenterology, urology, urgent care and surgery centers among them. Different specialties break the front office in different places, and the rules that fix them are not the same rules.

Frequently asked questions

What is Confido Health?
Confido Health is a New York-based company, founded in 2022, that builds AI voice agents for healthcare front offices. Its agents answer calls, authenticate the patient and resolve requests such as scheduling, refills, payments, referrals and status updates, escalating complex cases to staff and writing interactions back to the EHR or practice-management system. It listed on the athenahealth Marketplace on 10 June 2026.
How much funding does Confido Health have?
$13.3M in total. The most recent round was a $10M Series A announced in September 2025, led by Blume Ventures with participation from Schema Ventures, Vicus Ventures and existing investors Together Fund, DeVC and Medmountain Ventures, plus operators from Innovaccer and Memora Health.
Is Confido Health a good fit for an athenaOne practice?
It can be, and the marketplace listing is native. The trade-off is the one that applies to every multi-EHR vendor: engineering effort is spread across 40+ systems rather than concentrated in one. For workflows that only need to read the schedule and book, that costs you nothing. For workflows that need to finish a referral, correct an eligibility failure or work a balance inside athenaOne, depth in the one system is what decides whether the work actually completes.
How do the two compare on the athenahealth Marketplace today?
As of 5 September 2026, on athenahealth published counts: Confido Health has 5 practice connections, no published reviews, 6 specialties, and a listing three months old. Pretty Good AI has 40 practice connections, 17 reviews all five-star, 20 specialties, and a listing live since September 2025. Confido is early on this board — that is a statement about time listed, not about the product.
What about multilingual support?
This is a real Confido advantage. They publish 20+ language coverage, which is broader than most vendors in this category ship. If a meaningful share of your patients call in a language your front desk cannot cover, put that at the top of your evaluation criteria and test it live on both vendors with real callers.
