Two hard problems that look like one
A large group with a struggling front office usually has both of these problems and cannot immediately tell them apart.
The first is that scheduling is genuinely complicated. Forty providers with individual requirements, several locations across time zones, visit types with different lengths and prerequisites, care settings that book by different logic. Getting a patient into the right slot is a rules problem, and most software is not good enough at it.
